Nine Mercs entered the 2017 Hart Nunes Regatta on Racoon Straits from the San Francisco YC. The racers were met with a breeze of 16-18kn, with puffs over 20. The race committee had problems setting up the course in the breeze and the tides.
Five Mercs started with Randy Smith and John Hayes leading the way. Park Densmore and Mike Spitz
were second. Ken Maring was third followed by John Ravizza in fourth. John Hansen retired as he broke
his boom.
There was only one race due to the wind conditions.
