Southern California sailors and one Northern California sailor enjoyed decent sailing both Saturday and Sunday despite some influence from a hurricane to the South. Saturday required some patience to get going but by the fourth race of the day, Hurricane Gulch was living up to its name with 15 knot breeze.
Mike Burch and his son Kyle were back sailing with a donated mast from Kenny Dair. Making a statement, the two took the first 3 races, giving up the last race to Lyn Hines and Kenny Dair.
Mike continued on Sunday, with his daughter Kristen, to sail well and enjoy sailing his Mercury Jade after some time off and loaning his boat to Chris Raab/Kenny Dair for this year's Mercury Nationals.
The LAYC hosted, and ran the on the water racing, for both this weekend's PCC regatta and the 2018 Mercury Nationals. As part of the combined racing, up for the taking was the Kenny Watts trophy which was won by Tom Priest and Damon Guizot, seconded by Lyn Hines
