Mercury Class Yacht Racing Association

The Carmiggelt Regatta was a success thanks to a break in the weather and the Encinal YC race committees willingness to launch races.

Because the predominant wind was crossways to the normal fetch of the Estuary,

getting the perfect course was not going to happen.  5 races and only one windward mark move was a pretty good result despite the absolute craziness at the windward mark close to the shore.
A decent turnout,  10 boats,  and some good wind at times made coming out worthwhile.
Thanks to Doug Baird for showing up and bringing a decidedly heavy Carmiggelt Trophy to award to its new custodian, Randy Smith.
