Hello all Mercury members!
Happy New Year!
As we wave goodbye to another very successful year of Mercury racing, we welcome and look forward to an even better 2019.
We are off to some what of a slow start. Perry Cup weekend # 1 went off without a hitch. Not so for the 2nd weekend in Dec. and 3rd weekend in Jan, with high winds and stormy skies both Saturday’s had to be canceled. Weekend #4 is on Saturday February 2nd and hopefully Dick Clark and his merry band of helpers can get in as many races as possible.
With some new members and a few older boats making their presents known throughout the year, it looks like the coming year is shaping up to be our best yet! For 2019 we have schedule the So. Cal Series on the same weekends as the Nor Cal Series as to promote more Mercury activity in the Southern Calif. area. A new twist to The national championships series, it is on the schedule for mid-September.
The Mercury Class annual meeting will be held in Paso Robles on January 19th, starting at 1:00. Any class member or potential class member is invited to attend!
With 23 races scheduled for this year, I’m confident there is a race and venue somewhere this year you can splash your boat and go have some fun!
Remember, your boat wants to go sailing and it wants to take you with it!
